Understanding prayer is very important if you want to have an effective prayer life.

The reason why a lot of believers don’t value prayer as a unique practice is because they don’t know why they are doing it. And its import to understand why we pray.

understanding prayer will help improve and transform your prayer life.

It’s interesting to know that prayer is the most talked about Christian activity, but it is the least practiced. Why is this so? Because we don’t even know why we are doing it.

If you understand prayer, you will understand how to pray effectively.

Lots of believers have this believe that God is in control of the earth therefore He does whatever He wants to do and when He wants to do it and they believe that to be the reason they should pray.

But that is not the case. If that was the case, I see no reason why we should pray. If God cannot be influenced by us and our prayers then we really should stop praying.

I see no reason why I should be petitioning a God who will do whatever He wants to do and when He wants to do it regardless of our prayer.

WHY WE PRAY!

From my years of studies and research on prayer and its concept, I finally received the revelation of why we pray. Prayer was created because of the limitation of Gods words.

I want you to know that man had direct communication with God before the fall. The fall of man because of sin caused man that direct access which placed a barrier in Gods communication with us.

I want you to take note of this facts. Remember them as long as you live.

  • God is as sovereign as His words.

  • God is limited by His words.
  • God will never disregard His words.

Numbers 23:19: “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

Psalms 138:2: “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name”

God does not speak if He will not perform. God is sovereign until He speaks. But guess what? God has already spoken. A lot of believers are waiting to hear a strange voice saying to them;

“My child my child, I am your lord thy God” before they know that God has spoken. But that’s not the case. God is speaking to us every day.

Turn to his words (Bible) and hold Him by it.

GOD NEED YOUR BODY TO DO BUSINESS HERE ON EARTH

As believers, we don’t pray for God to come down and take control, we pray to give God the permission to operate here on earth. When you pray, you are simply giving God the license to operate on earth. God only acts when you ask Him to.
